Since our brand’s inception, CannaSmack has taken a stance against animal cruelty, ensuring that all of our products are cruelty free and made with responsibly sourced ingredients. Thus far, we have proudly displayed the PETA cruelty free logo on all of our packaging. Despite our PETA certification, we desired to offer our consumers a higher level of transparency and assurance, so we began working towards achieving our Leaping Bunny Certification from the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC).
The Leaping Bunny Certification process required us to:
- Verify that both our products and ingredients are not tested on animals.
- Disclose and provide documentation that ensures that our lab and suppliers do not conduct animal testing.
- Submit to audits as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Re-accreditation is required annually, further ensuring that brands remain honest when it comes to saying no to animal testing.
This year on “420” April 2oth, 2018 CannaSmack received a huge surprise in our inbox! After a long journey, our Leaping Bunny Certification has been approved! We are so excited to achieve this and announce such a grand milestone for our company’s continued efforts towards transparency and consumer assurance.
Over the next couple of months, as our current existing labeled inventory gets sold and replaced, you will begin to see the new labels featuring the Leaping Bunny cruelty free icon. Also, be on the lookout for new products we plan to launch this year which will be featuring our new certification as well!
